Privacy and cookies

What we collect, why, and what you can do about it, in plain English. Last updated 22 October 2026.

Who we are

Blue Unicorn Digital builds websites, apps, CRM systems and AI for businesses across Glasgow and Scotland, from Paisley. For anything about your data, email contact@blueunicorndigital.com.

What we collect

When you use the contact form or the price builder we collect your name, email address, phone number if you give it, your message and the boxes you ticked. We use this only to reply to you and to keep a record of our conversation.

We also keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address to stop spam. It cannot be turned back into your address.

Our legal basis

We handle enquiries on the basis of our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us and, if we go on to work together, to take steps towards a contract with you.

How long we keep it

If you contact us and we do not go on to work together, we delete your enquiry within 24 months. If you become a client, we keep project correspondence and billing records while we work together and then for up to six years, as UK tax rules require.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. Your enquiry is stored on our hosting provider’s servers in the UK or EU and sent to us by email. If you accept analytics cookies, Google receives information about your visit.

Cookies

This site uses as few cookies as possible.

  • Essential: a session cookie named bud that protects our forms against forgery. It is deleted when you close your browser.
  • Analytics, only if you say yes: Google Analytics, to see which pages are useful. Nothing is loaded until you accept, and you can change your mind any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

We remember your cookie and animation choices in your browser’s local storage. That information never leaves your device.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Just email us. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
